The World Ministries of World Temple Branch Temple No. 24 encompass a range of auxiliaries dedicated to the spiritual and communal upliftment of the Global Village. Among these, the Sister’s Auxiliary stands as a beacon of empowerment for Moorish-American Muslim women, fostering unity and active participation in the mission of uplifting fallen humanity. Established to provide aid and support, the Sister’s Auxiliary embodies the principles of Love, Truth, Peace, Freedom, and Justice through their dedicated service.

In addition to the Sister’s Auxiliary, Branch Temple No. 24 operates virtually, extending its reach to a global congregation. The temple serves as a hub for the World Congregation, led by the World Chaplain of the World Temple Ministries and the Chaplaincy, acting as the elder for the global Central Solutions Office. Moorish Parliament

IN BRIEF AN AUXILIARY IS:

A person or group who helps or aids. The Sister’s Auxiliary was founded by Sister J. Levine-El in 1928. The Sister’s Auxiliary is a branch of the Moorish Science Temple of America, which empowers our women (through unity), and places them in a position to perform major tasks in the area of uplifting fallen humanity. The Sister’s Auxiliary is composed of Moorish-American Moslem sisters with a paramount object to uplift fallen humanity and to be the “right hand to the Prophet” by their kind words, works, and deeds. Membership of the Sisters Auxiliary grew in 1928, and soon they sustained a “Necessity Fund” to help a sister or brother in distress and care for the sick and needy. Headquarters in 1928 was located at 3140 Indiana Ave, Unity Hall, in Chicago Ill. Sister P. Wilson-Bey became the first Grand National Chairman. She became a member in 1932. She was a loyal faithful member of Temples number 4 and 25. She was a pioneer of Moorish Home number 1 in its establishment. She worked side by side with the brothers in farming, raising livestock, and poultry. She was a very diligent worker and a very active chairman. She was an inspiration to many in her dedication to the movement. She is credited with setting up many units of the auxiliary all over the U.S. She always had a smile, a good word, and a song for all. The Sisters’ Auxiliary is responsible for three national episodes. Tag Day Celebration (March 17) and Sacrifice Week (March 17 through 29) Widows Nite (during national convention) Seniors Day (March)

Holy Ministries

Much of the history of the Sisters Auxiliary was recorded in the Moorish Guide newspaper. Below are three articles concerning the Sisters Auxiliary that appeared in the Moorish Guide in 1928.

Sisters Auxiliary

The Moorish National Sister’s Auxiliary was organized on December 17, 1928, with a small attendance of ten members. The membership has grown in two months to the enrollment of twenty-seven faithful, dutiful Moorish Sisters. Their paramount object is to uplift fallen humanity and be the right hand to the Prophet through their kind words, works, and deeds. They have soon sustained a “Necessity Fund” to help a sister or brother in distress, and care for the sick, poor, and needy.

Their headquarters are at Unity Hall, 2nd floor. No Joining Fees-Monthly Dues: 25 cents. Sister Lavine El- President Sister Lloyd-Bey, Vice President Sister Rhodes El, Recording Secretary Sister M. Drew Ali, Financial Secretary-Treasurer Sister Adams El, Chairman Necessity Fund Sister Shaw El, Chaplain Preparation for Moorish Tag Day in Readiness To be Celebrated In all Temples Moorish Tag Day The first Moorish National Tag Day will be celebrated by all Temples of The Moorish Science Movement, the same having been sponsored by the Moorish National Sisters Auxiliary of Temple No. 1, of Chicago, March 17, 1929. The Tags will be sold within the Temples prior to and after each meeting held on the above date. The nominal price will be ten cents. All Temples have received sample tags and may pass them along for due consideration. Another Uplifting Act performed by the Moorish National Sisters’ Auxiliary was an Episode called “Widows Mite,” very suggestive of natives and procedure.

It proved to be a howling success as other episodes sponsored by these Thoughtful, Helpful Sisters. These are only a couple of the many surprises; they are planning to make the Prophet happy when he returns home. To Hold Tag Day Within Temple Number One The first Moorish Nation Tag Day will be celebrated by Temple No. 1 of Chicago from March 17-29. The tags will be sold within the Temples prior to and after each meeting held between the above dates. The nominal price will be ten cents. All subordinate temples will receive a sample tag (so) to that the idea may be passed along to them for the (due) consideration.

This tag will be held under the auspices of the Moorish National Sisters’ Auxiliary. There will also be a week of sacrifice. This will be celebrated a week before the return of the prophet from his tour around to the temples. For a whole week members will drop as much money as they can spare into a box. Upon his return the box will be presented to him for the Uplifting Fund, for fallen humanity. Sister Lavine-El, President Sister Rhodes-El, Recording Secretary.
