You may have asked yourself what is the meaning of Arraatib, it is the word that opens the key to this most mystical mental site. It is written “Ar-raatib”.   The word is an ancient Arabic word also used in Ancient Nubian and it means the unshakeable. It was believe in Nubia and through out the Sudan by the followers of the Mahdi, If you read this book in the evening, after prayer that your faith will become unshakable. So we chose this most powerful word as one of the key to unlock our seals of divine wisdom. And Now we will present you with a portion of this most mystical reading.  

The Raatib

“Oh heavenly one,.  In all your most beloved and cherished attributes.  It is only your name. That reverberates throughout the Universe and echoes from every faithful men’s heart.

Your Oldest Name knows not the limits of language. For it is praised as it is in every tongue known to Men. Yield to no boundaries: And no open eyes are blind to you and your love.

You and Only, You are the object of our desires  and if any Men must desire, let his only desire be to please you and to obtain your Grace.

Oh heavenly one, you are the initiator of every affair:  And it is your hands that shape the Destiny of this universe of which we are such a small part.

And You. Who is Master, are the first and the last.  You are seen, yet you remain unseen.  Hidden and far beyond our grasp; And although you are manifested from the all in all things.  You as the source, exceed our limited perception.

Oh possessor of every meteor.  Every planet large and small.  And every luminous body that lights that which is above, in the skies as you so compassionately light our hearts, you control every event in time and space and beyond.

Oh heavenly one, who is master, knowing of your infinite wisdom, I humble myself before you.  Having faith in all your prophets.  Peace and blessings of the source the  Most High be upon them.  Who were selected to sit on your throne and carry your messages to Earth.  These men of revelation have found favor in your eyes and are of the spiritual elite.  

With a melting heart, I humble myself before you.  Praying that you grant Men celestial peace and eternal brotherhood.

Oh heavenly one.  Bless our noble prophet Ahmad, the seal of the prophets who has endeavored to teach us of our divine love and knowledge; and may your blessings also reside with his companions and infinite ranks of faithful ones.

And heavenly one.  Because we exalt and glorify your wondrous name, we ask that you fill our hearts with nothing but the knowledge of your presence and make us never ever forgetful of your name and your oldest attributes.

Oh heavenly one, you are the all and there is nothing nearer to us than you; for you encompass all things.

Make us ever mindful of your greatness, your omnipotence, and keep our hearts in a constant state of remembrance;  for, we know and have faith in your goodness towards Men.  And we ask that you place not a seal on our hearts making us like those who can hear not the call to prayer..

Oh heavenly one.  Ruler of rulers and conqueror of all conquerors, your powers are forever evident as is the kindness and gentleness with which you continually guide us.

Please heavenly one.  Keep us in our right minds and let us not be like the Lunatics who are without humility and reverence in your presence.”

THE HOLY HOUSE Ques: What does Ahli’l Bait mean?   Ans: First of all the original Al-Muthkheroon ﻦﻭﺮﺫﺧﻤﻟﺍ  “Shriners” were in fact the family of the scriptures referred to as Ahlil Al-Bait  “People of the house” found in The Noble Qur’aan  11:73 and was a title given to those blood relatives from Adam to the present day, who vowed to protect the Sacred Shrines from intruders. They took a blood oath and were called Al- Halifoon ﻦﻭﻔﻟﺣﻠﺍ as a group or halif as individuals or those who took the oath.   There can be but one, Ahlil’l-Bait ﺖﻳﺒﻠﺍ ﻞﻫﺍ family of the house” known as The International Supreme Council of Shriners, Inc., world wide, although there can be many sub councils. Only one Imperial Grand Supreme Council governs the jurisdictions in due boundaries and in turn issue charters to temples  and units. The headquarters must be located where the blood relatives of Ali and the prophet Muhammad reside. The true Ahlil’l-bait is made up of 9 Arabs who hold the original manuscripts. The Taraba/Tarboosh The Tarbush and Fez have a circumference of 360 degrees of spiritual knowledge at the top and 360 degrees of physical knowledge at the bottom equaling 720 degrees. Through out history there has always been a mix up in these two head dresses, the Fez and the Tarba. The Tarboosh, properly called a “Tarba”, is mistaken for “Faas Magribiy” which is “a Moroccan head dress” it is not restricted to Mohammedans and never was the fez as it is mistakenly called because of dialect which results is incorrect Arabic pronunciation. Its color is usually  red or crimson but originally the learnt amongst them wore black.  and the servants, bust boys, waiters and the likes wore red.  It spread through out Africa as the Mohammedans religions spread.  So the fez can be seen in almost every country in Africa it spread through Spain, all the way through Europe into Turkey Syria Baghdad and Arabia. The fez is even worn in Israel.  However the misconception is  that it was specifically selected to identify the students that studied in Morocco and in the city of Faas in particular. Faas also fez fas “Turkish”  (plural) fezes.  A felt cap worn by men with a circular flat top.  with a small circular extension connected with a black tassels.  The height of which is not more than. 5 inches Height and 6 inches in diameter at the top.   A city of North Central Morocco  north east of Dar al-Baida “Casablanca”  the oldest part of the city was founded in the 9th century and reach the height of its influence in the midst 14th century.  Population around 448, 823.     The Egyptians Faas has been modernized to suite the Egyptians culture thus the reciters. of the Koran are known to wear the Fez with a white Turban like ban surrounding it.  Through out  Africa the fez has become block and taken on different shapes and extending all the way to Malaysia and even to India where it is now called a “Jinnah cap“.  The pronunciation of the word Faas change according to dialects.  The original word is an Arabic word written Faa’sur raa’s  the back of the head. When the Moors civilized Europe the Fez traveled to Turkey and became synonymous with the convert to Islamic religion those who wore it were respected and bore the title Effendi.  The word effendi a title to respect equivalent to “sir”  Turkish equivalent to sir. Sir is a middle English variant of sire meaning senile senior, elder. The Tarba  was a symbol of ancient Egypt. Rulling class of lower Egipt and was called the pischet or Deshret worn by the Nubians such as Mentuhotep.  You will find that most of the Egyptians knowledge used by Shriners has its origin in Aswan and Nubia why the pyramids on the back of the dollar bill is not the Giza pyramid is a Sudanese pyramid. So the headdress worn by the Shriners is more in line with the headdress of ancient Egiptian the tarbush as the Arab called it. And also adapted it as a crown of nobility. It was crimson or black.  Worn by both male or female.  The Tarboosh in actuality is not a Turkish word, but is a an actuality an Arabic word when its pronounce Tarbush it becomes Turkish of the exaggerated “sh” sounds on the end which is command in Turkishstany, the language of that region. They heard Tarba and pronounce it Tarboosh the same way they hear Kayfa Haalak and pronounce it Keefa Halash meaning “How are you“. A common  mistakes made by those not natives of the Arabic language. You will find that most of your mistakes in manuscripts that originated in Arabic happens because of poor translation. YouTube can change the words over but you cannot change centuries  of tongues used which results in poor pronunciation. The worst being the Pakistanian and their Urdu; the Persians and the Farsi; the Bangladesh and their Bangali.  And their influence on Europeans and Americans with tempt to learn Arabic in particularly the Qur’aan “Koran, Coran”  from these individuals who do not have an Arabic tongue  resulting in things like Tarba becoming Tarboosh;  Faas becoming Fez. We know this because the Turks mispronounce the Arabic words. For example the word fez was original spelled with a seen ﺲ in Arabic, and when altered was changed to a zaa ﺯ changing the end of the word to a “z” sound from an “s” sound. Now in this case with the word tarboosh and the sheen ﺵ has been added to the end of the root word taraba ﺐﺮﻄ., which is “the amount or level a person is affected by something, emotionally”.  Red crimson that is today was specifically selected to identify the students that studied in Morocco who had become devoted students and all those who wore this fez were known as student where ever they went. And as students they were servants to the teachers to wait on them hand in  foot. This is how the Faas became the dress of the Hotels attendants through out the Arab world. Most people are mistaken because of the similarities in how the Faas and the Tarba look. They both have a circumference of 360 degrees of spiritual knowledge at the top and 360 degrees of physical knowledge at the bottom equaling 720 degrees. Both the Faas and the Tarbush are brimless headpieces usually tasseled and made of felt. The Tarbush also can be found amongst the Ancient Babylonians (Sumerians) who wore beautiful decorated Tarbushes. The original Tarbush had one band wrapped around it’s base. Later on two more bands were added to signify dominion over more than one country. The tassel on the Tarbush represents, “The Bell Of Happiness”. In modern Egypt invaders adapted this crown and called it a “Chechia”, which had many shapes. Thus the Egyptians eventually called it a Tarba. To invaders it is simply a head covering from the Persian word “Sar” meaning head and “Poosh” meaning cover becoming “Sarpoosh“. The Tarbush’s correct meaning is “The Crown of Life”. It also represents an Imperial ruler and is a symbol for learning. Thus most leaders and learnt men through out history adorn a Tarbush or a Fez.   The Fez originated in Morocco. When the pilgrimages to Bekka “Mecca” were interrupted by the crusades in the year 980 A.D., they adorned the Fez. The “Red” color of the Fez also represents the red color of the juice from berries (used for dye) which came from berries that grew in rapidly in the region. It is interesting to note that the Fez of Morocco was “Sacarlet” which is a Islamic city, and a great center for learning and was once the northern capital of Morocco. This city is a symbol of  “Kodesh” meaning “Holy Place”.   Thus headpiece is a symbol of this great city. Question: Do the colors of the Fez have any significance? Answer: Yes. The colors range from black, red, white, maroon and in some cases green. The red fez  was originally worn by the Moors, in the western hemisphere, and the wizards of the Order of Christ, Known as the Protestant, Baptist, and the so called Jews and Methodist also wore it.  You see the Coptic Christians of Egypt wearing the black fez.  The Black Fez was the Highest degree of nobility worn by the Grand Mufti and the elite councils members who had an option to wear a crimson.  In the shrine we will call them Divans,  a Persian word  Divan – is a long backless sofa place with pillows  along the wall used for the assembly of the council members in morocco, used in public audience room in Moslem countries.  It has its root in Persia.  Vahanam “House”Divan Title use for high archly in Shriners implies council members.  who has its roots in the French version of the word De van becoming Persians Devan “Now” originally from Diwan “Brochure, collection of poems, muster roll; place of assembly, roster”,.  Thus the potentate are known as Devan.  As a traveler one can obtain a Fez, eventually through learning and mental mastery of the higher degrees one will don a Tarbush as an elder. The Shriner Tarbush, on the other hand represents being cunning and knowledge of those who built the pyramids. The white fez  which is worn by the Daughters Of Isis, distinguishes  them as “The  women  of the Imperial Court.”  Also Lady Shriners, The Sisters of Fatima, Daughters of the Nile, However, the black fez which is the supreme noble fez that is worn by most well learnt men of our history as a special meaning and was worn in the Sudan by the warriors of the Mahdi in their battles against Britain and Anglo Egyptian invaders. Many prominent leaders of today are following in the foot steps of their ancient Egyptian ancestor who himself was of the same region of the Mahdi of the Sudan, Nubia, Mentuhotep and have adorned themselves with the Fez.   Those who succeeded overthrowing the Hekat Khasus ” Hyksos Canaanite invaders” and chasing them across the hot burning sand out of Egypt and back into the land of Canaan after which Egypt rose to the height of its glory.  After 430 years of  Hyksos  so journey in Egypt.   It was the Free-Masons who got expose to Persians and Egyptians who wore the faas and as they studied under them they adapted this used.  The Shriners also wear what is called Immah “Turban“.  Fez was 1 of 4 capitals of Morocco and was a great Islamic center of learning.  Thus this is why we Free-Masons and the Ancient Mystic Order Of The Shrine adorn the  Tarba “Tarbush” upon the  head. Do keep up with your tarba and know where it is at at all times  Don’t wear it too far back . Don’t tilt to the right Do wear straight and neat on the left side  1.  Do not lend your fez to anyone 2.  Do not wear tarba in an appropriate places 3.  Do not block your tarba out of shape or wear dents in it. 4.  Do not tilt your tarba to the right or left backward or forward. 5.  Do not hang jewels, pendants, button, or emeralds that do not pertain to the shrine or your office on your Tarba. 6.  Do not wear any color tarba but that prescribed. 7.  Do not wear any color tassel but that prescribed. 8.  Do not play sports or games while wearing your Tarba.  9.  Do not attempt to get your own Tarba customize, uniformity in our temple is important,  We do not want different grades of quality worn in our temple.  10.  Do not wear damaged or old Tarba.  11. Never absolutely never allow the opposite sex (women)  to  wear your Tarba. 12.  Never never absolutely never let a child play or wear your  Tarba or Tarboosh.  13.  Never ever absolutely never allow people other than yourselves to take pictures in your Tarba.  14.  Do not wear Tarba with other tribal names than that of the temple to which you belong.   15.  Al Jam’a (The Unit) you  belong to that is Al Waahat “the oasis” you stop at on your journey across  As Sahraa’a “ the  dessert” which has a tribal name in our case its Al Mahdi No. _____ (whatever) or Ansaruallah for the Supreme Grand Council.  In the event that your Tarba becomes old damaged stretch out of shape, discolored, lost of tassel, embroidery damaged, replaced it with a new one.
